Energy
Programs. We
assist individuals, communities and businesses with
planning, project management, funding, and constructing
energy projects. Projects can include energy
conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy
development.
Current Energy Programs and Projects
Anaerobic Digester
- We are
assisting Huls' Dairy in Corvallis, MT with construction
of an anaerobic digester system to capture and use
methane for energy generation, reuse nutrient-rich
liquid in irrigation system, generate a bagged-solids
soil amendment product, reduce greenhouse gas
generation, and offset the dairy's natural gas and hot
water requirements. View a
presentation on the project.
For more information on the project
email us or contact our
office at 406-582-5700.
Small Anaerobic
Digester Proposal
- We are
considering accepting a project to assist a small
digester project in Montana. This second project
will focus on a small dairy (approximately 100 cows) in
size and produce biogas from the manure that will be
converted to compressed gas for use in a vehicle.
Dairies or other farm operations interested in taking
part in this project should contact our office at
406-582-5700.
Wind Energy -
We're heavily involved with landowners, communities
and developers in wind energy. Through our
partnership with MSU Extension, we provide resources and
information to help Montanans make informed decisions
about wind energy. Visit Montana
State University Extension's website for more
information on this program.
Wind Energy
Irrigation Model -
We're working on an economic model that irrigators can
use to evaluate options for powering irrigation systems
through wind energy. This model is made possible
through our partnership with MSU Extension and the
Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Energy Revolving
Loan Fund -
Northern Rocky Mountain
RC&D and Economic Development District is working on an
exciting program to assist individuals, businesses and
communities with energy efficiency, conservation and
renewable energy development. We're looking for
funding and resource partners for this program.
