Housing Rehab Programs:

Northern Rocky Mountain RC&D has partnered with USDA Rural Development to offer the following grants and loans programs.  All applicants must be located in rural areas in rural Gallatin, Meagher, and Park County.  Any applicant within the city of Bozeman does not qualify.

Up to $4,200.00 – Housing Preservation Grant:
-       Max grant up to $4,200.00
-       For very low income individuals
-       Applicants must own their home and property
-       Applicant’s homes must be on a foundation

Up to $7,500.00 – Rural Housing Repair and Rehabilitation Grant:
-       Max grant up to $11,700.00 when paired with the housing preservation grant
-       For very low income senior citizens over 62
-       Applicants must own their home and property
-       Applicant’s homes must be on a foundation

Up to $20,000.00 – Rural Housing Repair and Rehabilitation Loan:
-       1% Loans up to $20,000.00 for a 20 year term
-       For very low income individuals
-       Applicants must own their home and property
-       Applicant’s homes must be on a foundation

Examples of approved improvements for grant funding:

- Wheel chair ramps
- Walk in showers for elderly or disabled residents
- Hand rails in homes, bathrooms, or bedrooms
- Insulation upgrades and efficient widnows
- Roof and flooring repairs
- Heating system safety and efficiency
- Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors
- Ventilation including bathroom fans
- Water heaters
- Electrical safety including GFCI outlets
- Gas safety shutoffs
- And more
